INVESTIGATIVE REPORT
Mavişe Yüksel
Pityriasis rosea (PR) recurrence is generally considered to be rare. There are few studies conducted in the literature to determine the frequency of recurrence. 212 patients (136 female, 76 male) were prospectively evaluated by the same physician for 4 years and recurrence frequency was examined. This study is considered worthy of presentation due to the PR recurrence rate being higher than reported in the literature.

As many as 17% of adult atopic dermatitis (AD) patients have at least one psychiatric diagnosis. Depression is the most common psychiatric comorbidity among adult AD patients. Mental disorders are more frequent in women than in men with AD. A previously unreported finding is the association of AD with both schizophrenia and bipolar disorders.

Previous studies have reported that primary cutaneous lymphomas profoundly influence patients’ health-related quality of life (HRQoL). However, assessment of this psycho-social concept is not common in routine patient care unless required within clinical trials. The aim of this review is to provide a comprehensive overview of HRQoL measures and outcomes in cutaneous lymphomas in order to infor ...

Atopic dermatitis is associated with several comorbidities. Epidemiological studies on psychiatric comorbidities in adult atopic dermatitis patients are sparse. We analyzed psychiatric comorbidities in a Finnish nationwide adult atopic dermatitis cohort. The study included 57,690 adult patients with atopic dermatitis as cases and 40,363 individuals diagnosed with melanocytic naevi as controls. Dat ...

Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a systemic inflammatory disorder. However, the relationship between severity of AD and metabolic and atopic conditions is not well studied. The aim of this study was to elucidate the relationship between severity of AD and comorbidities, such as metabolic conditions (increased body mass index, hypertension, hyperlipidaemia, and type II diabetes mellitus) and other atopic ...

Few studies have validated standard measurement instruments for evaluation of chronic pruritus. The Chronic Pruritus Tools Questionnaire PRURITOOLS assembles a set of instruments for the assessment of pruritus, such as the visual analogue scale (horizontal 100-mm line), numerical rating scale (0–10), verbal rating scale, and information on pruritus quality and improvement during therapy. This st ...
